Boy do I have a NOOB story for ya!  Always ask for the VIN before you buy!

I purchased a 1983 Camaro off a family member.  I got the car on a good deal and was told the transmission fix was $700 at most.  Three months later and GM has abandoned their $700 quote and are trying to charge me upwards of $1500 to rebuild a TH200C.  I can buy a complete rebuild kit for a TH200C for less than $200 so I can't see how I'm supposed to justify paying someone such a large sum of money for something that is obviously so cheap!  I needed a car for work but I'm the kind of guy who would rather walk than drive a cheap import beater!  So instead of buying a cutesy pink Neon or a baby blue Honda I scouted out another Camaro.  Only this time I really got screwed!

I bought a 1987 Camaro under the impression it was a used car... it turned out to be a parts car... something I would rather have known before I drove it over 200kms back to my home.  The 87 was supposed to be the driver and I had planned on swapping the fenders, wheels and hood from the 83.   My dream car was nearly ready, all I needed now was registration and insurance.  I got down to the registry office and was stunned to find out I had bought a PARTS CAR!!!!

So now here I am, two Camaros in my yard.  I can weld a lil and do basic mech stuff but I'm no Chip Foose!  One day I'll have a running Camaro... just not today... or tomorrow... or next month!

Yeah thats right... I wanna CHOP the roof!
